BitByteBots Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 7, 2026 · Last Updated: July 7, 2026
BitByteBots is a parent-managed service that creates personalized stories and related keepsake products for families. We care deeply about protecting children's privacy and giving parents control over the information used to personalize their child's experience.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices parents and legal guardians have.
BitByteBots is intended for use by parents and legal guardians. Children should not create accounts, enter information, upload photos, or interact with the website on their own.

For privacy questions, child data requests, deletion requests, or parental consent questions, contact us at hello@bitbytebots.com.
2. Parent-Only Use
BitByteBots is designed for parents and legal guardians.
Parents create accounts, manage child profiles, choose story settings, receive stories, review content, and control whether child information is updated or deleted. Children should not use BitByteBots directly, submit information, upload photos, or communicate with AI through the service.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information from parents and legal guardians to provide the BitByteBots service.
Parent Account Information
We may collect:
- parent name
- parent email address

- customer support messages

Payment details are processed by our payment provider. We do not intentionally store full credit card numbers on our servers.
Child Profile Information
Parents may choose to provide limited child profile information so we can personalize stories.
This may include:
- first name or nickname
- age range
- pronouns, if provided
- interests
- favorite themes
- reading level
- story tone preferences
- sibling names or nicknames, if family story mode is selected
- other parent-approved story preferences
We encourage parents to use nicknames or first names only.
Parents should not provide sensitive child information such as full legal name, home address, school name, teacher name, exact birthdate, phone number, email address, precise location, health information, diagnoses, government IDs, or private family details.
Story Information
We may collect and store:
- generated stories
- story settings
- prompt version
- safety and quality scores
- delivery status
- parent feedback
- regeneration requests
- reported story information
Uploaded Photos
If a parent chooses to order a product that uses a child photo, such as a custom poster, we collect the uploaded image for that product order.
Child photos are optional and are treated as sensitive personal information. We use them only to create, review, produce, fulfill, and support the product the parent requested.
Technical Information
We may collect limited technical information such as:
- IP address
- device and browser type
- log data
- security events
- authentication activity
- pages visited
- errors
- service performance information
We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and manage parent accounts
- verify parental consent
- create and manage child profiles
- generate personalized stories
- deliver stories to the parent account
- allow parents to review, regenerate, delete, or report stories
- fulfill printed books, posters, or other products
- process payments and subscriptions
- provide customer support
- maintain service safety and security
- prevent abuse or fraud
- comply with legal obligations
- improve story quality using non-training methods such as prompt testing, safety review, quality scoring, and synthetic test data
5. AI-Generated Stories
BitByteBots uses commercial AI service providers to help generate personalized stories. Stories are generated for parent review. Parents should read each story fully before reading or sharing it with a child. Stories may not be individually reviewed by a human before delivery.
We use safety rules, story templates, filters, and quality checks designed to reduce inappropriate, unsafe, or low-quality outputs. However, because AI-generated content may occasionally include unexpected wording or mistakes, parent review is required.
6. We Do Not Use Child Data to Train AI Models
We do not use child profile information, uploaded child photos, prompts, generated stories, or parent feedback containing child information to train public AI models.
We also do not sell or provide child data to third parties for AI training.
We use commercial AI providers to generate stories. We configure our vendor relationships so customer and child data is used to provide the service, not to train or improve public AI models.
We may use synthetic examples, fictional child profiles, redacted examples, templates, rubrics, and aggregate quality metrics to improve story quality.
7. No Targeted Advertising Using Child Data
We do not use child profile information, generated stories, story preferences, uploaded child photos, or child-related data for targeted advertising or retargeting.
We do not sell children's personal information.
We do not create public child profiles or public story galleries.
8. Parental Consent
Before collecting, using, or disclosing child personal information where required, we seek consent from the parent or legal guardian.
By creating a child profile, uploading a child photo, ordering a personalized product, or activating personalized story delivery, the parent represents that they are the child's parent or legal guardian and authorizes BitByteBots to use the provided information for the requested service.
If parental consent is not provided or is revoked, we may not be able to provide personalized stories or products for that child profile.
9. Parent Rights and Choices
Parents may request to:
- review child profile information
- correct child profile information
- delete a child profile
- delete story history where available
- revoke consent for future collection or use
- request a copy or summary of child information
- cancel story delivery
- cancel a subscription
- contact us with privacy concerns
To make a request, email hello@bitbytebots.com.
We may take reasonable steps to verify that the request comes from the parent or legal guardian associated with the account.
10. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to operate, provide, secure, and support BitByteBots.
Service providers may include:
- website hosting providers
- database providers
- authentication providers
- payment processors
- email delivery providers
- AI generation providers
- analytics and security providers
- customer support tools
- design, print, fulfillment, and shipping providers
- legal, accounting, or compliance providers
We require service providers to use information only for the services they provide to us and to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the information. We do not authorize service providers to sell child personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for unrelated purposes.
11. Printed Books, Posters, and Physical Products
If a parent orders a printed book, poster, or other physical product, we use the approved story, personalization details, uploaded image if applicable, order information, and shipping information to create and fulfill the order. We may share the approved print file and necessary order/shipping information with design, print, fulfillment, and shipping providers.
If a product uses a child photo, we use the photo only for the parent-requested product and related support. We do not use child photos for AI training, advertising, social media, portfolio examples, or public marketing unless the parent gives separate written permission.
12. Human Review and Quality Assurance
We may review limited story information for safety, quality assurance, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, customer support, or parent-reported issues. Where possible, we use redacted information. Access to full child profiles or full stories is limited to authorized personnel with a business need. Reviewed stories are not used for advertising, public examples, or AI model training.
13. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, fulfill orders, support parents, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Child profile information is retained while the profile is active unless the parent deletes it or revokes consent. Generated stories may be retained while the parent account is active unless deleted by the parent or removed according to our retention policy.
Uploaded child photos for product orders are retained only as long as needed for production, fulfillment, support, legal, security, or compliance purposes, then deleted or de-identified according to our retention policy. Deleted information may remain in secure backups for a limited period before being overwritten through normal backup processes.
14. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information.
These may include:
- access controls
- authentication controls
- encryption where appropriate
- audit logs
- vendor review
- limited employee/contractor access
- secure storage
- monitoring for abuse or unauthorized access
- internal privacy and security procedures
No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to protect parent and child information responsibly.
15. Cookies and Analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, secure accounts, analyze service performance, and troubleshoot issues.
We do not use advertising pixels on authenticated child profile pages or private story pages. We do not use child profile information for targeted advertising.
16. Email Communications
We send stories, account notices, service updates, support messages, billing notices, and other transactional communications to the parent account email. Stories are sent to the parent or legal guardian, not directly to children.
Each story email may include a parent review notice, such as:
For Parents: This story was created with AI and is intended for parent review first. Please read the full story before reading or sharing it with your child.
17. Marketing Communications
We may send parents marketing emails about BitByteBots products, offers, or updates if permitted by law.
Parents can unsubscribe from marketing emails. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop transactional emails needed to provide the service.
We do not use child profile information, uploaded child photos, generated stories, or story preferences for targeted advertising.
18. Public Sharing and Marketing Use
Child profiles and generated stories are private by default.
We will not use a child's name, story, photo, printed book, poster, profile details, or family information in advertising, social media, examples, case studies, testimonials, or portfolio materials unless the parent gives separate written permission.
19. International Users
BitByteBots is currently intended for use in the United States of America.
If you access the service from outside those regions, your information may be processed in the United States of America or other locations where our service providers operate.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or share child information, we will provide notice and obtain parental consent where required. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy shows when it was last revised.
